ForestEye

The platform

From camera to alarm in seconds

ForestEye turns ordinary IP cameras and low-cost sensors into an early-warning network: AI that watches every frame, an alarm box on site, and one portal to follow everything live.

Three building blocks

Everything works together

AI cameras

Any standard IP camera becomes a fire lookout. The AI runs on an ordinary computer — no GPU, no per-camera licence.

  • Fire and smoke model trained on real fire images
  • Colour, persistence and motion checks against false alarms
  • People and vehicle detection near sensitive areas
  • A snapshot and a video clip for every alert

Alarm & sensor box

A compact ESP32-based unit that warns people on site and measures the conditions that come before a fire.

  • Buzzer and coloured light, muted or tested from the portal
  • Temperature and humidity; optional flame and gas sensors
  • Raises a local heat alarm even without network
  • Low-power ESP32 design; solar and GSM versions planned

Live portal

One secure place for the whole team, on a phone or a computer, from anywhere.

  • Live video with the AI's boxes drawn on the image
  • Alerts, snapshots, clips and full history
  • Sensor dashboard and hourly analytics
  • Accounts with roles: administrator, operator, viewer

Anatomy of an alert

What happens when a fire starts

  1. 0 s

    1. Flames appear

The camera's image reaches the AI, which analyses it frame after frame.

  2. ≈ 1–3 s

    2. Confirmed

Fire must be seen over several frames; smoke must last and move by itself. Then the alert is raised.

  3. + 0.2 s

    3. Alarm on site

The alarm box flashes red and sounds, even if the system is disarmed — fire is always critical.

  4. Same moment

    4. Team alerted

The portal shows the alert with its snapshot; a video clip is recorded for the report.

Measured, not promised

Fire/smoke analysis
≈ 25 ms per frame (laptop CPU)
AI throughput
8–10 images per second per camera
Hardware for the AI
ordinary computer, CPU only
Cameras
any RTSP IP camera (H.264 recommended)
Portal
any web browser; Android, iOS and desktop builds
Remote access
encrypted HTTPS link, no open router ports

Measured on our prototype with a real IP camera and ESP32 alarm box.

Security & data

Your data stays yours

Protected access

Personal accounts with roles. Live video is only served after sign-in, and all remote traffic is encrypted.

Nothing exposed on site

The site connects out to the portal through a secure tunnel — no router port is opened.

Hosted where you decide

On your own server, on site, or with a provider of your choice — including hosting in Algeria, in line with Law 18-07.

Let's protect your sites together

Tell us about your site. We'll show you ForestEye working live, and plan a pilot with you.
